South of Cancun, north of Tulum in the heart of the Riviera Maya

Is it safe to swim in the playa carmen area? l mean are there sharks, jelly fish and dangerous poisonous stuff?

Pretty much. the ocean is the ocean, so there is no gaurantees, but ive never heard of any sharks. of all the hours in the water , nothing ever happened to me. I hear of the rare searchin being stepped on, but nothing ever serious. Mostly you have to watch out for the rocks and coral in certain areas of the beaches , I just go to the sandy areas. Have fun. Yes it is safe for you, but please don't touch anything. That reef is alive and dies a little bit more each time somebody touches it. Also, please leave the sea life alone as well. Don't touch/ride turtles. They don't like it and they need to breath air just like us. They just hold their breath longer than we can, so you never know when their time is up.

Thanks & Enjoy.

We are staying at the Grand Riviera Princess in about three weeks.  How is this hotel?  Where is it located in relation to the center of PDC and other fun spots?  Thanks.
