Hi... I have never been the Playa before. Been to Ixtapa, Cancun, and Aruba. I like the Caribbean side of Mexico better than the Pacific side. Hoping Playa will be a little more quiet than Cancun. I am coming with my wife, 5 yr old, 7 yr old, 16 yr old and a friend of hers in early August.... My hands will be full. Thanks for the welcome. Hope I can learn some things here. Would like to fish one day, Scuba one day and go to the ruins one day, and of course shop....
Hi Kris,
Thank´s for the welcome comment, well I have a video that I recorded in Tulum may be is a good idea to put it here in the community. And I am planning to visit again Playa del Carmen in August the first days, I am coming with my partner, and my family in law (this is the first time they visit PD) and I believe they will love this place.
So, I think is a good time now, to start and checking good places to stay, because I can´t wait to enjoy the beautiful beaches and the food :) Have a nice day.
Hi Kris, Excited about returning to Playa on 6/15!!! Usuallly stay at Xaman Ha condos............and hope to find new adventures in other boutique hotels and beach clubs!!! Would love some great nite life referrals for dining and drinks!!! Thanks for the welcome and hope to meet some of our club members on our riviera!!!!
Hi Kris:
Thanks for your welcome. Actually I have been once to Playa and only for a few hours, on my wayto Cozumel. I was staying in Cacun. I am returning to stay in Playa for Memorial Day wekend 2010. It will be four girls total. I wanted to get acquainted with the bars, beach clubs etc. before arriving. I can see there is alot to do out there. I can't wait!!! It wll be my fourth visit to MX. I love the people, the food and the weather.
Thanks Kris! We just got back yesterday, and had some pretty unseasonably wet weather. We love to talk playa....I will be posting some photos and comments soon!
Thanks for the warm welcome!

Hi Kris. We have stayed at both the Iberostar Telum and Quartzel. Have wondered about the other Iberostars but heard that the one closer to Cancun had a rocky shore line. Hate to change when you like what you know. Each time we have been tere, the adult pool was closed and was really wondering about that pool. Feel comfortable being topless on the beach there and unsure if the others allow that. Only real downer is that the pools are closed at dark when it would be romantic to swim. Have not gone to the clubs in Playa after dark, only ate at a couple of the restruants and shopped the strip. Hit Senior Frogs early in the evening but never late. Which club is the more "meet new people" or adult oriented if any, and I am not talking about a place to just show the pictures of the grand kids. Thanks, Pam
Hi Kris! Thanks for the welcoming message. I'm still in the planning stage. Here's the lowdown:
Thinking of staying at Playa Maya hotel
Definitely want to scuba dive (never done this)
Offshore fishing (if available)
Maya Ruins
Maybe a run over to Canun
Recommend I get a car? (I had planned on it - Comfortable knowing I have wheels)
Hopefully it's hot there in 2 or 3 weeks...wanna sweat of a few pounds (43 year old - Computer geek stud)
Should I go through Orbitz?
Thank you for the welcome Kris. I anticipate tha we will be at PDC sometime in late April to early May. I will chat with you sometime before, thanks. Rene
Hello again!
We're planing to go there between 18 and 25 of October. Hope it is a good period to travel! Our budget does not exceed the $900/person... do you think it's possible to get a peaceful hotel (a.i.) around this price??
Thank you!
kisses
Hi Kris!
Thank you for your greetings! We'll visit México probably in early October. Although, we've given up of Cuba;it's too expensive for our pockets!
Anyway, any sugestions about where to stay, what to do, how much we'll spend in and around Playa del Carmen would be great!
The main idea is to rest in a place surrounded by nature, calm beach, with swimpool bar, snacks 24/7 :D we've heard some good critics abou Sandos Caracol Resort Bech -or something like that.
We're very thankfull for your help and quick response!!!very thoughfull of you!
hi, I am traveling the end of march and staying at the bluebay esmeralda. I am concerned that reviews have said the beach isnt swimmable? Also, how far or how much for a taxi to downtown playa del carmine? thanks, Kelly
Hi Kris, Sorry for the delay in getting back to you...but I have been busy having too much fun in Playa del Carmen. Thanks for your warm welcome and in answer to your question, I am staying at El Faro, on 10 st and the beach at the lighthouse!! Fantastic location in the heart of PDC....
Thank you for your welcome. I am going to be in Coz from Mar 3 to 17 , diving as much as possible. From the 17 to 24 I will be in Playa. I have not booked in Playa yet. Any suggestions on hotels on the beach that dont cost tooo much.

Hello Kris, Thankks for the warm welcome. l am thinking about April of this year. l am not really into the resort thing but would love to find some nice homestays close to Tulum and for later close to Veracruz.
We are staying at the Grand Riviera Princess in about three weeks. How is this hotel? Where is it located in relation to the center of PDC and other fun spots? Thanks.
on Tuesday
Peter Staniec Anyone have any info on the Blue Pearl Suites? Its on Calle 10 near the beach.
Thanks,
Peter
Am I better off simply showing up and walking around town vs scouring the internet to find a 3-6 month rental in playa near the beach and 5th avenue. I'm looking for a nice one bedroom or studio in the $400-500 monthly range from late Sept - Feb or…

I was thinking of going with www.reefquestdiversmexico.com for diving. What do you think? I don't want to just snorkel...I want to scuba dive.
If not this company, have a better scuba diving company in mind?
Be there 5/7 - 5/14, Playa Maya.
Thanks in advance
Ron
