hello! we are super excited to visit playa del carmen....we are counting down the hours until we leave connecticut, which is sunday morning, which i just found out is about 4am...hee hee guess we will be spending last couple hours in the casino to kill time, until then. i guess... : )..also, i saw a video that someone took of the fire show at the blue parrot and very interested in seeing it...actually i can't wai...i know and already told everyone that we will have to see the fire show at blue parrot...i also forgot that i signed up for the playa del carmen social club a couple nights ago, haha i must have been starting early and feeling nice and forgot that i did indeed sign up...so heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeey everyone! oh, and better warn playa del carmen that we have come to playa...even tho that means beach it sounded good as play.
Thanks for the welcome, I visited years ago and just never forgot my trip and look forward to returning.This site will keep me motivated to hurry and return

I am planning a trip in December to Valentin Imperial Maya in Playa Del Carmen. I've been to the Riviera Maya to a family resort. i was concerned about nudity on the beach because we are bringing two 18 year old girls and I don't want to be suprised. I'm also curious about the entertainment at the resort.
Thanks for the welcome. We, that is Jim Scherl and Dyan Hageman, own Villa #1 at Villas Sacbe @ 234 1st Ave. between 10th and 12th. We try to get there every 6-10 weeks and rent our place out to guests via Playa Associates/CondoHotels.
We own and operate a health club/personal training studio in St. Louis and hope to start a "destination" intense immersion fitness program where we bring clients down for the "extreme" fitness experience sometime in the near future...we are trying to transition to playa full-time..so we'll keep our fingers crossed.
I'll be sure to start using the playa social club site and do my best to promote the things we have come to love and the new things we discover each time we come back.
Our newest faves include...the rooftop @ Basico for a change of pace from the sand and surf, the best view of the city and really cold beer; GeoFish Dive Shop has great dives and their divemasters are Fantastic! Wicky's beach club and restaurant...great food.great service. Erica is one of their beach servers and is wonderful//their buffalo wings are superb! the club sandwich and burgers are splendid. But, as always, it is Babe's that tops the charts for fresh, yummy food for us. The mojitos can't be beat and their pad thai noodles are delightful!
thanks for your reply .really looking forward to coming. we are staying at the sandos playcar beach and spa hotel. does any one know what the hotel is like. what are the prices like in the local shops, should i take us dollars or take pescos what is the best to take with us. are there anythings that we should see when we are out there. sorry to be a pain with these questions . i cant wait we dont arrive till the 12/ june regards john
Thanks, I've been to the Mayan Riviera a few times now but have also done the AI thing. No more of that for me. I want to stay in a small place with a room on as close to the water as possible with a hammock outside the room. That's my only requirement. Also I want to eat at as many authentic mexican spots as possible and being a true tequila connoisseur, where's the best place for that. And real margarita's not sweet or fruity/frozen ones that seem to be everywhere. I've been around your site some and it's already been helpful. The area is truly one of my favorite in the world and I plan on moving there as soon as I figure out a sustainable plan. Thanks!
Thanks. We are arriving February 19th, and staying for one week. We are kind of artsy, we would like to find a nice spot to do some sketching while we are there. My daughter Annie, is in art school, and this week is her winter break. I hope that she won't get bored with my company!

We're coming down mid Feb for our first visit there. we've been in PV and Bucerias and are anxious to enjoy the sun and beach. We are just the two of us.... quiet fun loving grandparents looking for warmth, ocean drinks by the water, good food, shopping and enjoying the culture. We will go to Cozumel and hit some ruins, maybe a jungle tour but mostly want the ocean. I'm lokingfor a good deal and AI ( I think). Got a deal thru Continental for the Allegro Playacar and have had the Grand Coco Bay suggested. Can't find reviews for Grand Coco and mixed on Allegro. Got any comments?
Denise, we are actually going in April. We are staying at Natz Ti Ha condos. In the past we've stayed at Posada Freud, Playa Maya, Blue Parrot, Continental Plaza, Riu Palace and Aventura Palace. This is the first time we are renting a condo. Hopefully all goes well. We have a crew of 9 coming down.
